Don't rain on my parade!!!

Yesterday should of been our Easter Bonnet Parade at work. Except the boiler broke in the school building and so the children were told not to come in - I was actually really looking forward to seeing them all in there bonnets - the children that did turn up and bring there hats looked fantastic!!

Not sure but it shows off my dress so I left it :D

Easter Bonnet Parades originally stemmed from the Palm Sunday walk as Jesus walked to Jerusalem - and in years to come Easter Parades took place before the Easter Sunday service at church!
I used to have a great time making my Easter Bonnets for the parade when I was younger - I won twice!! (See below) and won an Easter egg and a basket of fruit for my troubles ;P
I used to love the whole tradition of the march, with the band. carrying the flags and the people waving as we walked - it's not something you get to see as often now - well here in the UK anyway.

Wow I would still wear that checked skirt and those blue tights if I could, maybe not my brownie uniform - haha

Oh and once a poser always a poser!!;P

Mushroom cakes and shiny trifle balls

It would of been my Nanna's 93rd birthday on Friday .. she died 3 years ago just a couple of weeks before the big 9-0!

When she was alive we used to have a b'day party for her every year - and she still used to do all the baking - she would make mushroom cakes and lemon curd tarts .. and always a trifle with shiny edible silver balls on top - so this post is dedicated to her!!

I wore this outfit to go run some errands, and go shopping may of picked up some bargains ;)

I went to the churchyard after that to visit my Nanna's plaque and take a pot of Gerberas!

Whats black, white and Green all over?

Ummmm .... Me apparently .. it wasn't intentional to wear all black, green and white it just kind of evolved. I started off painting my nails - Blue Moon it's called but it's actually more turquoise green than blue.

I then added the vintage necklace to my outfit and was originally planning to wear black tights but then when i was in the tight drawer I saw my nail varnish was the exact colour of these tights - and a look was born!
Sadly it might be the tights last hurrah - as a hole has developed - its right at the top of my thigh so not noticeable and I stopped it running any further by painting nail varnish over the end of the ladder so maybe they'll live to see another day yet :D
Here are the ways I've worn my beautiful tights so far....

What I wore:

Top: Dorothy Perkins.
Skirt: George @ Asda.
Tights: Asda.
Shoes: Barrett's.

On Thursday I wanted something simple and comfortable as I am full of cold and really couldn't be bothered to mess about so went for a tank and trousers.

Checkmate Blossom?

Today I have had a lovely day so far - we went out to the Wedding Photographers to finally sort out the album - I know, I know 8months later!!
It's looking good - I can't wait to see the finished product!

Then after that we went and did the food shopping and then out for a meal and drinks :) Was lovely and the weather is gorgeous today, which helps!
Have just come home and baked a chocolate cake - YUM can't wait to taste it - if the mixtures anything to go by should be yummy :)
Going to a pub quiz tonight - haven't been for a while - fingers crossed we win :D
When I put this outfit together (minus the hat) it reminded me of a 90's TV show - so I found out my old hat for a couple of pictures - then I looked like Blossom haha.

Speaking of - I saw a programme on MTV last night that had Joey Lawrence on - I didn't recognise him he looks soooo different!!!
I told you the other day that i was going to set a new challenge for myself - well this one ties in nicely with it - I want to find inspiration from Film and TV programmes and base some outfits around those ... I have picked out a few films I want to try to emulate - but would love some idea's and suggestions ....

Hope your all having a great weekend :D
