Don't rain on my parade!!!

Yesterday should of been our Easter Bonnet Parade at work. Except the boiler broke in the school building and so the children were told not to come in - I was actually really looking forward to seeing them all in there bonnets - the children that did turn up and bring there hats looked fantastic!!

Not sure but it shows off my dress so I left it :D

Easter Bonnet Parades originally stemmed from the Palm Sunday walk as Jesus walked to Jerusalem - and in years to come Easter Parades took place before the Easter Sunday service at church!
I used to have a great time making my Easter Bonnets for the parade when I was younger - I won twice!! (See below) and won an Easter egg and a basket of fruit for my troubles ;P
I used to love the whole tradition of the march, with the band. carrying the flags and the people waving as we walked - it's not something you get to see as often now - well here in the UK anyway.

Wow I would still wear that checked skirt and those blue tights if I could, maybe not my brownie uniform - haha

Oh and once a poser always a poser!!;P

What I wore:
Dress: Florence and Fred @ Tesco.
Necklace and Earrings: Gifted - Avon Boutique.
Tights: Primark.
Shoes: Gifted.

Ah what a shame the kids couldn't do the easter bonnet parade! I loved helping my little sister with her easter bonnet years ago.

Oh you looked so cute in your bonnets! Such a shame about the children's parade.

Thank you for your message - I'm okay, I've just been very busy, but I'm back now. (Yay!)

I LOVE the dress you are wearing. So beautiful on you.

I've never heard of the easter bonnet parade tradition. That is so adorable! That's too bad that the parade was cancelled this year.
